“Making the Case: Human Trafficking

from Identification to Trial”

a conversation with

Laura Matthews-Jolly

2-4pm, Friday, December 14th

NYU Deutsches Haus

How do the youth victims of human trafficking leave the shadows and enter into a daunting legal arena? To bring their cases to court, trafficked youth often need to be sought out by the legal system and guided through an intimidating process. Laura Matthews-Jolly will outline the challenges of identifying trafficked youth, stabilizing their immigration status, and assisting them in matters related to family, education, employment, and post trafficking stabilization.

Laura Matthews-Jolly is an Equal Justice Works fellow at the City Bar Justice Center providing resources and legal representation to youths who have been subjected to human trafficking.

This event is sponsored by the Trauma and Violence Transdisciplinary Program at New York University.
