An announcement from our own Alan Itkin…
I wanted to let you know that the American Comparative Literature Association’s annual meeting in 2014 will be in New York City (hosted by NYU’s Comparative Literature Department), March 20-23. The deadline for paper submissions is Nov. 1. This is a great opportunity to attend a national conference without having to shell out for travel! Instead of panels, the ACLA has “seminars,” which are essentially a series of panels that meet all three days of the conference and include 8-12 papers. You can either submit your paper proposal for a specific seminar or submit it without specifying a seminar and the ACLA will try to match it up with a seminar. The theme for the conference as a whole is “Capital,” but your paper doesn’t have to relate directly to the theme.
Here is the paper proposal website:
I hope you’ll consider giving it a try!
