Talk by artist Ian McAlpin for Draper Students, Oct. 23!

pm at 25 West 4th St. room C-5 for a talk by artist Ian McAlpin.

Ian McAlpin tells stories with pictures. He studied film, photography, and
semiotics at Brown University, with additional study at the Czech Film Academy
(FAMU) and the Rhode Island School of Design. Ian has worked in almost every
aspect of film production — development, production, and post-production. His
ten years of set experience have left him versed in multiple forms of filmmaking:
short, feature, analog, digital, documentary, animation, experimental, &
narrative. Recent work includes: Cinematographer on Born to Fly and
Damnation: Flashback, director on Burning the Barn, and client work for Google,
NPR, Vogue, and The New York Times. Ian is a founding investor and board
member of Hive Lighting and editor of Funeral Photography — a digital
