Bobst Library’s spring season of Friday afternoon concerts concludes this week on May 8 with ensemble mise-en in a performance of four works by Sofia Gubaidulina.
- Quattro, for two trumpets and two trombones (1974)
- Reflections on the Theme B-A-C-H for string quartet (2002)
- Sonatina for flute (1978), featuring Catherine Gregory, flute
- Concerto for Bassoon and Low Strings (1975), featuring Nanci Belmont, bassoon
Sofia Gubaidulina (b. 1931), is one of Russia’s most distinguished composers. ensemble mise-en, founded in 2011 by NYU composer and conductor Moon Young Ha, is one of the most ambitious and accomplished groups on the contemporary music scene today.
Curtain time: 5:00 p.m.
Venue: first-floor gallery of Bobst Library, 70 Washington Square South.
