The NYU College of Arts and Science and the Department of Nutrition and Food Studies invite you to join them for a panel discussion, “Social Justice: On the Farm” in celebration of National Food Day on Monday, October 24, at 6:30pm in Jurow Lecture Hall, Silver Center for Arts & Science, 32 Waverly Place. This discussion will identify moments for advancing justice within the production process of the food system presented by those directly affected by–especially the not often heard voice of the experienced farmworker, Hector Tejada –and those working to correct and voice these inequities in academia and the media, Professor Margaret Gray and author and journalist Tracie MacMillain (CAS ’99).

Seasonal apple cider and donuts from the Doughnuttery will be served.

This panel is part of a planned two year panel discussion series, “Food for All: Advancing Justice in the Food System”  over academic years 2016-18 addressing concepts of justice within each segment of the food system (Farm Production–> Supply Chain –> Consumption–> Post Consumption Waste).
