Graduate Student Society Call For Papers: Data Visualization Symposium !

ekphrasis (Greek n.): A visualization that interrupts a narrative.

The Graduate Student Society is excited to be coordinating with the NYU Data Services Studio to host

Ekphrasis: A Symposium on Data and Information Visualization in the Arts and Sciences on November 18, 2016. We want to showcase all the ways that graduate-level scholars and story-tellers in the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences are using technology to represent their work in ways that challenge standard methods of publication and reach new publics with their research.

Presentations will involve displaying your visualization and briefly introducing it in a five to fen-minute talk. Experts will be on-site to talk with you and provide constructive feedback!

The Graduate Student Society will consider projects at a variety of stages of completion.

If you have a project you’d like to present, please send the following information to gsas.gss[at] by Friday, October 28, 2016: Name, Year, Department, and a brief (max. 250 words) of your project. Feel free to direct any questions you might have to us as well!
